Default Setting up new 150 gallon with 40 gallon sump tank for oscars...........

Do have to fill tank initially with zero osmosis water to begin cycle. Just wondering if I can just fill tank up with house water with hose and deal with water hardness issue chemically afterwards. As I remember right, introduce some hardy small freshwater fish to tank after 30 days. Let tank cycle for another 60 days and if water chemistry is good to go. Introduce 2 oscars. Weekly 25 percent water changes with weekly vacuuming of substrate with Marineland magnum canister filter attached to wide vacuum tube to not pull in substrate. Balanced feeding mediums to Oscars. Always monitoring temperature, water hardness, PH, ammonia, nitrate, and nitrite levels. And go and purchase reverse osmosis water filtering money from having to buy water from pet store or treating my own water. Did I miss anything. Thanks skip777

Cycling usually depends on personal preference, but yeah, that should work. Sounds like a good tank.
