Ava is now finally following me everywhere and loves to sit on my lap often. Although when I'm sitting at the kitchen table where I use my laptop and read a lot, she tries to roll over and stretch for belly rubs and my lap is just not long or wide enough
My awesome brother thinks she needs a playmate and is coughing up the cash to make that happen. The breeder's Christmas kittens are all spoken for but she has others that will be ready to go home late Jan, early Feb. I'm waiting to hear from her to see if she will have what I want. I like the bicolor patterning, which Ava has, and would like to have a male this time. I'd also like to try a blue coloring, as opposed to Ava's seal color, just to mix things up a bit. Although, I love Ava's color so would not be opposed to another seal. I'll have my hands full for sure. But in my younger days I had 3 cats and 2 dogs for years, so I'm sure I can handle just 2 cats.
I've had 2 injections so far, with a 3rd coming up this week. No significant changes as yet but as this is the only option available, I'll keep trying. I think the ENT said he could do 4 total - I have to check that.
Any more pics of the cute little puff ball? Or maybe a companion puff ball? It's always nice when little kitties (or even big kitties) can find good homes. Lucky little Ava.
20 gal. high: planted; 5 white cloud minnows, 4 golden White Clouds, several RCS, 2 blue shrimp, 5 Amano shrimp, several snails; Azoo air. 65 gal: planted; 6 rosy barbs, 6 yellow glofish, 3 red glofish, 3 zebra danios, 5 white cloud minnows, 3 dojo loaches, 6 crimson spot rainbow fish, 12 large Amano Shrimp, several snails; AC110.
A couple of pics of Ava below. Haven't heard from the breeder yet about her latest litter. I sent a deposit but they hadn't been born as of Oct 31, although they were due shortly. It take about 3 weeks for any coloring to show (they're born all white) and the breeder waits a few weeks after that before she shows what she might match to prospective owners.
I also had the last of my steroid injections in the ear (3 total) and there's been no change. So I will just be living with one deaf ear. It's annoying but not much else to be done. Not ready for a hearing aid yet and that may not even be a possibility.
You had better hide that little kitty -- 'cause I'm coming to get her!
You'll have to find her first!! She runs and hides when strangers are about. Although, over Christmas my son and his fiancee spent 3 days here and she finally joined all three of us on the 2nd and 3rd days.
Was in touch with the breeder a couple of days ago as I hadn't heard anything on her last litters - I think there were 2. But she said the only bicolors she had were 3 female seal bicolors (same as Ava). I'm hoping to get a male blue bicolor, although I would also consider seal again. But I do want a male. She has a litter that is only about 2 weeks old and she is thinking that there might be what I want here as the father is a blue bicolor. Takes about a month or so for colors/patterns to start to show. It's not as hard to wait this time as I have Ava to keep me occupied. I'll have to get a couple of more photos off my phone soon.
That is one cute gato. :) Hope you can get your hearing sorted out.
Unfortunately, there are no other treatments for this hearing loss (sudden sensorineuro hearing loss - SSHL). It is 50/50 whether recovery happens and my age is against me. I sought treatment within a day, and went through both the oral steroids and injections into the ear. It's very annoying at times but sometimes I can ignore it.
