Single angel's are fine. I have one that was fighting with the other angels so she is now the only angel in my 125.

My last angel is in my 125gal, too. =] Just added her, after dismantling one of my 40s. I think she's about 8-9yrs old, now. Outlived the other two.

If they're single, they can become pretty timid. With your bio load, you should be comparable to what I had with the 3 BNs. lol

If you want to spice things up a bit with a larger centerpiece, you might consider adding a Severum, which is another peaceful and beautiful cichlid that doesn't need to be kept in schools.
I was told a 55g is too small for a severum, and that they needed a 75 minimum, however if you believe theyd be alright Id love one! Ive always thought gold severums were gorgeous!

On a side note, my lfs isnt able to get anymore Upside down catfish till next year and the next nearest one is almost and hour and a half away so... :/ I suppose Ill either have to wait till next year or try and find something else.

Another thing to note, I was able to give my pleco away. The man who took Sucker Bill (yes, a great name, I know) has him in a 175 tank with several cichlids. Id like a smaller pleco I think, however I was told Bristle noses didnt do water above 73*C. If so, I would love one!

    So how about
    1x Severum
    10x BA
    10x Pristellas
    1x Bristle nose

And maybe some sort of ground dwelling fish?

I think that community sounds good. Yeah, you'll be fine with one severum in that tank.

    Do you mean 73 F?

Bristlenose do fine in warmer waters, even lower 80s.

Ground dwelling fish could be a group of corys. They are social so should be in a group of at least 8. The reason the tetras should be in bigger groups is because they shouw the best natural behavior in larger numbers, I know you are going to bump their numbers up-which is great.

That will depend on the tank parameters. I would also be concerned that the Severum may snack on them and the other smaller fished in the tank.

    https://www.seriouslyfish.com/species/heros-efasciatus/
    BTW look at that mouth!
It wouldn't be a risk I would take, but everyone's different and you may get a good one.

Angelfish won't bother the fish, before Starscream went into the 125, she was around eels, harlequin, espei and hengeli rasboras, gourami's and plecos and only harassed the other angels in the tank.
