Are these Cichlids compatible? I assume using caution is good, but I want to know if I can keep about 5 of them in a large enough tank and have no crossbreeding. I don't know if the color pattern will be an issue.

For the large part most mbuna's are compatible with other mbuna species, with hybridization always being a possibility. Maintaining the species in harems (one male per several females per species) and lots of rock work should reduce aggression and potential hybridization, although both being horizontally striped mbuna's the risk there may still be hybridization potential (even though the females of each species are of a different color pattern).

Auratus are known as an extremely aggressive mbuna species, so be ready for that; they're best added to the tank last.

When asking if you can keep "5 of them" did you mean 5 each or 5 total? What size tank?

55 gallons. 5 of each. 5 mainganos with their own section in a divider. 2 Jewel Cichlids in their own section with divider. 2 white tailed acei and 4-6 Rusty Cichlids in there own section with divider. |2 Jewel Cichlids|2 White-Tailed Acei, 4-6 Rusty|5 Maingano|. "|" represents the divided tank, and all the fish in it are going to see each other. I plan to breed all these fish in the same 55. I don't know who is going to buy all the three inch fry though.
