    Best of luck to out as this stuff is nasty. Also please don't run and grab a fish to solve the problem-everyone thinks an algae eating pleco,Siamese algae eater or Mollie will solve the problem, 9/10 times it won't.

    I have found a syringe with peroxide squirted on the bba to do the trick, in conjunction with water changes, cleaning filters, and keeping your phosphates low.

    It might as well always work to empty the tank and then put water back in. (Make sure the fish have been removed first). Aquatic life dies when placed out of the water so should algae, only do so if you want to get rid of it permanently in (I hope) the cheapest way possible.
