Thread: Angel fish fry

  1. Default Angel fish fry

    Hi Guys,

A quick question. My angel fish have laid eggs for the second time (they ate the first lot), I have seperated the eggs from the rest of the fish in the same tank. The eggs have hatched, but now the fry have burried into the gravel and seem as the can't get out. Is this normal?

Yes, its normal, sort of. They still have their egg sacks. When finished eating the nutrients in the sack, they'll become free swimming, and will right away need feeding several times a day and daily partial water changes.
If you want to know, I'll tell you why your pair ate the first spawn.

Most people leave the bottom of the breeding tank bare as the fry can become stuck and die.
Fish are friends NOT food!! ROCK ON!!
