Wonder if its not frustrations over the site. I know I have to fight to see who has any new posts or new threads. Even hitting the clear cache doesn't always work. I can never see anything new with the phone. I miss Lee and Tom and Larry and everyone else who has been MIA this past year. Been so long since this place has been working right...

Lol, fish/snails and the water really mess with the veggies. I typically put cucumber in and it’s always looks so weird after.

So your plecos like the bell peppers? I might have to give that a try for mine, I haven’t seemed to find a food she really loves yet.

    Haha, thanks for the points!

Have you tried using Tapatalk? The site never works well for me and I really only go on there for a poll or the like. Tapatalk is much easier.

Yeah I also use taptalk too. It just doesn't have all the options of the full site. Though I do like how easy it is to upload pictures.

My plecos eat and love lots of veggies and fruits including (raw unless specified)

    -Zucchini and yellow summer squash.
-Opo an Asian summer squash that is very spongy and buoyant.
-Pumpkin, acorn, butternut, carnival, hubbard, kabocha, and other winter squash. You can blanch these first to soften them - I don't.
-Sweet potatoes, really like the pink Asian variety. Also can be blanched to soften- I don't.
-Summer melons like watermelon, honeydew and cantelope (muskmelon).
-Red/green/yellow peppers. I usually give them the tops from when I am cooking.

They kinda like broccoli & cauliflower. But the shrimp like those more.

My guys don't like carrots or green beans.

I don't feed cucumbers because they don't have a lot of nutrition. That being said if you have a glutton and they want to eat-feel free to give them cukes, they will eat ad poop and get nothing much out of it, lol.

Celery, mushrooms, onions (anything in onion family) is a no.

Many of my fish, shrimp and snails love the fresh fruit and vegetables too.

I was shocked when we pulled it out, it looked so alien to me, lol. It was only in there for an hour and half. It must have smelled very good. I never tried green pepper before, they seem to like it better than the red and yellow.

This is so useful! Thank you! I never knew that melons would be a good addition, I'll have to try some watermelon and see if she likes that. Have you tried any seaweed? I was planning to try this as well as someone said that their plecs go crazy for it. I'd also consider it to likely be good for an ancistrus since they typically get a fair amount of their diet from algae.

I also didn't realize cucumber was so low in nutritional value, so thank you for that! I typically grab it because of the how easy it is to just cut and toss in.

I tried carrots and my pleco didn't like it either. I don't really blame her though, carrots don't taste that great!

I have tried seaweed with my goldfish and plecos. The problem with seaweed (the nori sheets is what I use) is that they #1 float, and #2 when they get waterlogged they disintegrate. I know specialty stores (and I think online) sells other types of seaweed that aren't pressed sheets but are the actual algae from the sea just dried. Never tried that because there is so much fresh stuff I can get locally that they love (well the ansistrus love).

I forgot another in the water (because it will make the water red) is beets-UNLESS you get golden beets, the plecos, shrimp and fish this too (as do I-YUM).
