If you want the fry to have a chance to grow up there are a couple options:

    1. In the current tank you can either remove all of the adults or all of the fry you want to try and save into another cycled tank or tub (as the plastic tubs like shoe or sweater boxes with a sponge filter that has been cycled).

    2. Put a lot of fine leaved plants (float some watersprite) or moss in the tank that will allow the fry to hide until they get bigger-you just will have to feed them so that they can grow bigger.

    3. Get a breeder box and when you see a pregnant female put her in the box and separate the fry into the tub mentioned in option #1 (make sure its cycled and you have food for the fry-small enough and nutritious enough like golden pearls sold by Kensfish.com (<--its a link) until they grow up out of the fast food stage.

Of course these fish are so prolific that yo don't have to do anything other than offer the fry more cover (#2) and enough will survive that your population. will increase to a point were you wish they would stop, lol.

Good luck to you whichever route you decide to go.

I personally prefer option#2 lots of hiding spots. pretty soon you will be looking for homes for all the babies.

Third vote for option #2 that Boundava suggested. Add some java moss (or another plant like that) to your tank, for example. Java moss is super easy to grow and the plants (any plants you add, pick whatever appeals to you) will naturally provide cover for your fry.

But, yes -- as everyone is warning -- do line up a place that will accept your grow-outs.
