Question Moving Tire Track Eel to larger Aquarium

    0 Not allowed!
I am planning to move my tire track eel to a larger aquarium. The last time we moved him was about a year ago when we moved from California to Florida. At that time he was only about 6 inches and it did not go well, he escaped the net twice before we finally got him into the temporary transport. Now he is about 12 inches and we are worried he will be even more capable of escaping a net. He is currently in a 40 gallon and we are moving him to a 75 gallon. Any tricks you all have?

Once you get it in the net put the open end of the net against the glass of your aquarium so it can't get out. Then find something flat like a plate or ice cream lid, and slide it between the glass and the net. Once you do that you should be able to pull it out of the tank without it getting out.

Use 2 nets, one slightly smaller than the other. It's much easier to catch and move large, floppy fish that way.

drain the tank until it is barely above the eel
