Hello everyone. Looks like the ballast in my aquarium light burnt up so with that being said Im looking for suggestions on aquarium lighting for my 38 gallon partially planted tank which is 36 long.

Of course I ordered a new bulb yesterday thinking it was just the bulb reaching end of life...

Need this info in a hurry if possible need to go get something tonight. Sounds like the two closest pet stores have only a limited selection. One option is an aqueon hood with encorporated LEDs the other is andingle strip light.

I wouldn't rush a purchase, lighting is no emergency...ambient light in a room is plenty for most FW tanks and fish, even planted ones

I use the Current Satellite fixtures on all of my tanks that I can, and like them alot...I have the Plus Series, there's also the Pro which has additional features, but too pricey for my budget

You'd want this one here for a 36" long tank: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00C7OTEVS...ing=UTF8&psc=1

I've had good luck with these fixtures, and lots of different lighting options to choose from...I wish they made them small enough to fit my 5.5G tanks

In this case you are 100% wrong because for one my tank is in a basement with almost zero ambient lighting and two I am about to be away from home for three days so I need to get something tonight.

I’ve called 5 local fish stores within a 30 mile range and thus far what I’ve found them tonhave in stock is an aqueon hood that comes with one daylight led strip and has a spot for a second strip.

A fuval strip that is 36” log that appears to be fully dimmable and adjustable across spectrums

Some new adjustable led strip that aqueon has out that I’m not sure of the name of. It is not as bright as the fuval one.

And based on this I would really really appreciate some advice on what is available.

I don’t think I have the amazon equivalents of the others.

Should I go for the fluval?

Get the Fluval, that's all I use and after 3 years I have no problems.
