Here is my new discus- a Heckle Cross. Looks to be mixed with a brown discus, possibly an Alenquer. Not sure if male or female yet, but from eye to body ratio would say it is a sub-adult. Its about 5.5 inches as yet. Hope to get another 1-1.5 lenghth and much more girth on him or her with feeding and frequent water changes.

Really healthy, just a small scrape on side that should heal quickly from transport.

I think you right, it does look like it's crossed with a brown. Is it a wild fish?

    No, not wild.
But, I would say from the way it looks, not far from wild. Maybe an F3 or 4.

I used to import browns and heckles out of Peru, and that one really looks close to the fish that came from there. (Nice looking fish)

Once he/she settles in, post a short vid, maybe that will help with ID and sex?

I know nothing about discus, so take that advice with a block of salt

At any rate, congrats, it's a beauty...glad it made it to you safely!
