Just to add another tale to this thread. We had a power surge today (just a few seconds) because of high winds. Fortunately it was during the day so I could check all of my aquarium heaters. The 100W in my 25g was stuck on 94F but all others had reset to their proper temps. This time I was able to reset the stuck heater by unplugging and plugging back in. When a different one got stuck at 94F during a water change, I was unable to reset that one and had it replaced.

So just another caution for those using Cobalt Neo-Therm heaters to check them if power is disrupted whether from unplugging during water changes, or power surges/outages. I still like these heaters and it's easy to see when something is wrong.
