This may not be the "best" place, depending on what you mean, but they sure do have a nice variety...I've always had great luck ordering fish from these guys

Jeff Rapps at Tangledupincichlids for SA or CA. He's in New Jersey and will do a meet up. If he's too far away, I would imagine that next day FedEx is ~$35 for you.

Ok guys and girls i have been doing alot of research and decided on mbuna cichlids. I have looked at all of the previous suggestions but havent found a good fit yet. My tank is still cycling which is driving me nutz but thats another thread lol. So im looking at bluegrassaquatics.com and tampabaycichlids.com. it seems like both sites are ran by the same person? Anyway tampa bay has a mbuna pkg for 25 mbuna $200 with $28 shipping seems like alot of money but takes the guesswork out of it for me. Has anyone had any experience with these sites

$28 for next day shipping? That's cheap. Typically next day FedEx is $35 within the state or airport to airport for $50-65. This is the time of year you should be getting next day shipping.
If mbuna is what you decided because of hard water, I'm guessing you already knew that Central American cichlids are a hard water species as well.

I've bought from Bluegrass, and had very good quality on the more common mbuna. They are a little weak on the rarer fish in sizing, but for plain old mnuna they're really good on sizing and quality. I'll tell you the truth, the more common mbuna are the prettiest fish. I've also had good luck on Aquabid.
