Right, I love them they have such big personalities. Hanso (the bigest one) was pouting because of the 3 new additions. He actually refused to eat...until he saw everyone else eating, then he got over himself, lol.
The Borneo eel I am getting is 8" with the same personality. He will be so much fun in the 125!

Sis is home today and took it on herself to move Hippie, lol. Hippie is so happy she took 10 minutes to walk around her new digs. She went from a studio apt to penthouse

Well Sis and I both decided to not go to the Greenwater meeting tonight. We were going to sell some of those guppies, but thought time would be better spent at home. so the plant for this weekend is to do massive WC on 125 and get the gouramis and SAE in there. Sis and I bought two chubby plecos and they will be hanging out in the 125 as well.
Also I will set up the 50 low boy for the forktail and kuhli loaches and the broken line tetras I found at fish planet, as the Borneo eel I am getting in November may just eat the loaches. I am hoping the SAE will grow enough to not be snacks.
Also need to do a WC and get a filter in the 75 downstairs to move the dojo loaches
Set up the 150 gallon stock tub in the basement with my second Eheim 2217 and move the goldfish
Set up another 75 gallon in the basement and put Crinkle-cut the syno in there; eventually the Congos I have will go in there too.
Get the 75 gallon upstairs ready and move the eels from the 40B downstairs to the 75 upstairs.
Plus we have some tanks to take down and move around, hope to get it done this weekend.
Also want to try and get the house decorated for fall/Halloween inside and out, plus the usual cooking and cleaning/laundry. Good thing I am making Chili this weekend for lunches next week-its relatively fast and easy. Aslo pork loin roast for dinner this weekend with some sweet potats.
BTW the good ol pres is deregulating pork-FDA won't be inspecting it anymore; so if your a pork lover I would stock up on all things porkie (ham, bacon, loin, roast, chops and belly) before they start (not)regulating themselves.

Oh sorry I missed this...
It took 3 weeks with as much cycled media as I could shove behind the corner matten filter-which wasn't alot since the pump and heater were in the space. I also cleaned the sponge filters in my tubs and poured the "dirty" water from the cleaning in the space behind the filter. funny story as 3 of my oblonga (black kuhli) loaches hitched a ride with the liquid and spent a week in 4ppm tank water with NO issues. They were NOT fun to catch-but we got them and they are in the 40B with my forktails. We were both surprised that they were doing so well, maybe all of the BB in that space helped them?.?.?.no clue.
Silly me thought it would be faster, but I should know it is a big tank and we dosed 4ppm of ammonia.

No I had placed an order with TWS around the 25th, they were having a buy $175 and get $35 shipping. I ordered 8 Congos, 3 SAE amd 3 more fortail loaches. Sis got 15 blue tertas (wanted the blue loreto, buth they were out), and 2 more of the "zig zag" eels which are usually Macrognathus circumcinctus. When I called on Monday to see why they hadn't contacted me they told me about the loretos and that they had a problem identifying the exact type of eel. He originally said they were trying to make sure they had the right size bag as they were listed as EXL, but he lied. Upon calling back he stated that they weren't sure what types of eels they had and couldn't guarantee the circumcinctus. Sis was pissed but said OK so we could keep the $35 shipping otherwise they wanted to charge $80 for shipping.
This week we got a (hopefully) M/D pair of chubby plecos, about 3" long. We were going to put them in a tub, but figured they could grow a little in the 125 until we move. We want to get them breeding in the future.
I will need to get 6-8 gold barbs for the Dojo loach 75, and maybe 5 honey gouramis for the 75 upstairs with the eels. I might add a mystery snail or two and bump my danios. I would still like to have a school of them in my 125. Don't think the Borneo eel cough catch them. Zelda can't catch them and she recently eviscerated a poor Lemon tetra while we were doing a WC on the quarantine tank. Sis watched it happen and said it was horrible to see, but the poor guy didn't suffer-thankfully. Now Zelda is banned from the basement on WC days.

So I have 5 sponge filters between the 2 tubs. I wanted to get the "good" stuff out of them which involves pulling them out and squeezing them out, or banging the sponge-which involves me taking the unit apart. Since I was't going to take them apart I lifted the sponge & base out and squeezed the sponge in a bucket of tank water. Unknown to me the first sponge I took out of the cory tank had Horchata-Ghost's daughter hiding between the end of the sponge and the base of the fixture. That's OK we wanted to get her out and that saves us a hunt in the tub. So I put her in another bucket with some tank water and I moved on to the other 2 sponges in that tub with no issues, as the corys don't hide in them.
The second tub is the gourami/kuhli tub. I repeated the cleaning with the 2 sponges in there-not realizing that 2 of the oblonga were hitching a ride. By this time the water in the bucket is black as night and as Ii took it downstairs and poured it into a tank whose water was also black as night-I just didn't see three squirmy bodies in there. Forward about 5 days later when the tank is cleared enough to see in and I pass by and see something flash of the side in the empty 125. I look closer and its a freaking loach , then another one. So I pull the heater out, the pump out and pull the sponge out a bit on the top and 40 minutes later I catch what I thought was 2 loaches out but its a PITA to move the pump and heater and all of the seeding sponges out to catch the little bugger with a net that doesn't quite fit. A few days days later the tank is crystal clear and the pump stops working. I remove the pump and hook up my airline tubing to power the filter. Then just the other day-surprise its another freaking loach stuck in the filter space. S/he must have missed her/his friends cause s/he just about lept in to the net
