No problem Matt, I watched a few fish room videos when I was thinking (a long long time ago in a house not so far away) about the fish-room setup in a new house. I knew I didn't want the maintenance of 40-50 HOB or canisters. Plus the electricity powering all of those, plus light and where needed heaters and current makers...it is a bit more electricity usage than I wanted do. This way the air pump powers 85-90% of the filters and low wattage powerheads can pick up on the tanks that need more current/turnover (=flow). Am hoping to make a minimal increase in power use, many of the tanks we have are also cooler/cold water tanks too-so no heaters. Only a few tanks will be true tropical tanks. Off the top of my head definitely the 120/125 and a couple 75/20/30, one 40B will need heaters. We got Finnex heaters for the 120/125 already. Also planning on LED lighting system for the racks-not individual tank lights. Just a couple tanks will have their own lights.

Oh crud, I forgot we have our Club picnic/points auction this weekend=Sunday gone! So we will try to do as much as we can Friday night/Saturday. Am hoping the 90 degree weather and no rain means the grass will not need to be cut this weekend-if it does then

Hoping to pick up some more plants-maybe some more leopard danios Sunday to add to the 8 I already got at a fish auction.. We are also going to go to the pet/fish store that is 10 minutes away to grab some fish; some pearl danios (not celestial) to go in the 30 with the loaches, and some eels my sister will be stocking in the 120. We have to get a 40 breeder going for the eels until the 120 is up.. So glad we have cycled media!

Kinda slow at work plus I don't really want to work. I just got off of 5 day off and yesterday we had a little work outing at a local minor league baseball field-Impact Field in Rosemont. We sat through 5 1/2 innings (Chicago Dogs were up 7/0) and had to leave because we were getting burned to bits from the sun. Today the office is down the prez and VP because they are in NY wooing brokers, so the office is (mostly quietly) recovering from yesterday's outing.

    Counting down till Friday....

Oh and another snafu...the Big Trouble in Little Kitten is going to be a huge PITA. Turns out she has a love for chewing squishy things-I did mention that before (she chewed a pair of sandals and the wire for my Corsair gaming headphones), well it has turned into an obsession for airline tubing and attacking the air flow coming out of air pumps-like a dog attacks water running from a water hose. What a troublesome weirdo !
So I am unsure as to how to protect my squishy silicone tubing once I get the system set up. We only have two options #1 wrap it with some of the electrical cord wrapping

    Attachment 57612
    Attachment 57613
    Attachment 57614

Or #2, just use electric tape and cover all of the tubing with it, super tedious.

We have tried bitterant sprays for cats to deter them. This nutso loves the spray! She won't chew the black CO2 tubing, which is very expensive and ultimately goes rigid and inflexible. Mater of fact I have some set up in one of the tubs and she puled this type of airline tubing off a Tetra deep air pump and was chewing the air coming out of the pump-the nut! She cut the silicone tubing in half to get to the air on my sister's 5 gallon tank. I can only imagine the havoc once she realizes that air is coming out of the manifold system in the basement.

Once we get the tanks set up with lids-she will be all over the tanks like butter on bread! You should see her walking and almost falling into the tubs-she gets herself wet trying to go fishing and almost dunks the Finnex light sitting on top of it.

She has jumped into and out of all of the tanks downstairs, including the really deep 120-how do we know? Trickster PITA kitty paw prints on the rim. She is 10 months now and mellowing is not going to happen for years. The other two cats are 5 and 6 and still run with her around the house like a herd of horses.

BYW I have no idea what happened to the pics I had attached, they don't seem to be working now.

Oh and the weekend opened up a bit, got the email from Greenwater and it seems we (my sister, her friend and I) were all hallucinating the fact that the member picnic was this weekend...

    Greenwater Meeting July 12, 2019

    Schedule:
    July 12, 2019 Meeting
    August 4, 2019 Member's Summer Party
It opens up the Sunday a bit as we will still be making the 3 hour commute (to and from) the pet store-but won't be at the picnic all day. Leaving half a day for cooking (yay?)

Well we didn't make it to the pet store in Orland Park. We did get to the Deerfiled pet store and set up 2 more tanks in the basement/fishroom. One is home to my new Koi guppies. Hoping to get a good breeding population started.

    Part 2...a little while later

    Love the manzanita.

Question, is the cat named after the Poltergeist chick or the video game character?

Lol, the Princess. She should have been called Loki after the god/dess of mischief. I will never adopt a kitten again-they are angels after 2 years, this one I want to return!

I'm sorry Matt, basically I blab about the 40B being Sister's and she is setting it up for some eels and cherry barbs. The 20L has Koi guppies that I am interested in having breed. Talk about the air system too, and with the big tanks I talk about the corner filters and the pumps we are going to use on them. Some troublesome kitten action in the first part where she climbs onto the water heater/heater and over the wall and pops out onto the rack. She is an attention hog... and a PITA

I also talk about the limestone rocks in those tanks, and how I picked them up at a local landscape place. I got a 5lb bucket full of limestone, another full of flat river rocks and a third half full of the Mexican black river rocks for only $7.56 with tax. I had to buy some 5lb buckets at Menards and those ran me almost $10, but we can always use more fish buckets. We will be going back to the landscape place for more rocks as needed, they have some gorgeous quartzite in green, purple and rose. Would love to utilize that in maybe a rainbow tank as I want to set 2 up for two different species of pseudomugil to breed in; a gertrudae and either tenellus, furcatus or ivantsoffi.
