I've kind of given up trying to get new posts or uploading pictures. I don't know, we are on the new server now; not sure if it's going to be fixed for me or not.

So knowing that I took two videos of my goldfish tank one before renovation or really cleaning; and one after. We recently got Comcast so it took all of two minutes for these videos to upload to Youtube, it is amazing.

No issues with the videos uploading, what the heck is with the photos?

I am aware of the issues but will not waste time trying to resolve them since we are close to moving to the new forum. I do not want to spend 3 nights bug fixing when I can spend 5 to get the new system running. I do apologize for the problems and ask you guys to bear with me a little bit longer.

Nice update! I do that too! I let critters clean my algae lol!

I usually put diatom covered plants in the pleco growout, but good to know pond snails eat BBA. I didn't think anyone ate that stuff haha

Me either, my sister and I were shocked when I threw in that cut leaf, we went running errands for a few hours and came back and it was 99% clean. Our jaws just about dropped to the floor. Now I may want a tub of pond snails for BBA as well as puffer food. I would just dump some plants in and then clean the plants after by either bleach bath or putting them in with the puffers we will have, lol. then the plants can go back to their home tank.

Wow, Natalia! I just read the first and last pages of your journals. What an outrageously cool project. So, are you still going for approximately your initial plan?

And what? Your nerites eat BBA??? Mine wouldn't touch it. But neither would either of the siamese algae eaters I've had, so maybe mine is a particularly tough variety. Anyway, I have access to an unlimited number of pond snails (my pond), and the perfect way to catch them (the Badgerling). So maybe I'll try a few if I ever get BBA problems again.

Anyway...fun to see what you've been up to. :)

Thanks Tom, it has bee a bit daunting of late to get the latest pieces of the puzzle together.

Our plans have changed a tiny bit; less 10 gallon tanks. We are going for maybe 4 shrimp tanks and 2 feeder tanks (one snail the other blackworms). We may nix the tanks though and go with tubs instead. We will have some empty 10 gallons on the side for QT as needed, as well as the sponges sitting in other tanks (seeding) so they are ready when/if needed. Those tanks (with the exception of the shrimp tanks) will be on the other side of the basement.

9-12- 10 gallon for shrimp, QT, live food and fry.
4- 15 gallon for wild betta and other small fish. Not sure if Sis is still doing the wild betas, one of my 15 is going to be for a puffer and the other for sparkling gouramis, my third 15 may home some paradise fish.
    4- 20 L for assortment of fish.
4-30 gallons; possibly two for crayfish (I'm not 100% sold) and other two-three for other fish, larger wild betta.
3-30 breeder; one will be a brackish fiddler crab tank, sis has one and I forget what the other will be for me. Long day at work and my brain is fried...The 30B have been swapped for 40B-so a total of six 40B tanks, thankfully they have the same footprint, just 3" taller. Additional details on the tanks are at home-I am (unfortunately ) at work. However no fiddler crabs or crayfish for me at this moment.
2-40 breeders, one will be a river tank for me for tatia catfish/honeycomb cats. Not sure what Sis is doing with the other.
1-50 frag tank that I will be using as a blackwater tank full of kuhlis, chilis, and axelrodi.
3-50 long tanks, one I will make a river tank for hillstream loaches and other river fish of the area, Sis has one and I don't remember what I am doing with the other.
6-75 gallon tanks, four are mine and they will be: SA blackwater with tetras, panda and Ghost; Honey gourami tank with a banded gourami and other fish from the area along with a small botia loach, Diamond tetra with acarras, Mrs. Muir and aneus corys. Possibly another suitable tetra, but unsure right now; forget the fourth one. the fourth 75 will be nice school of congo tetras and a couple/pair of kribensis. Excited in planting this one up.The other two are Sis's and she is going Native with the one I believe.
120 gallon, is Sis's and she is going for a complicated planted setup for rainbows with high demand plants and CO2.
125 gallon is going to be my Asian blackwater tank with the pearl gouramis as my highlight and forktail loaches (if I can find them) as the bottom dwelling fish. Tank will have a large school of Espie (24-28)and a smaller school (12-18) of Harley rasbora. No Harleys.

I have had luck with the nerites cleaning the bba off the anubias leaves-IF I can get them onto them. I have to place it on and then wait for it to latch which is where I usually give up. The trapdoor snails will also; to a lesser degree, clean the leaves but they are usually on/in the substrate. Or when the dojo/weather loaches spawn-they are in the java with the goldfish, eating all the eggs.

I will try to take out another one or two anubias and put it in a bowl with the pond snails if there are any left. I may also place the larger anubias leaves onto the substrate in the how it entices some grazing.
