I'd heard and read some crazy stories about cobalt heaters before I sold all my gear and moved and then they had all those heaters that basically melted in tanks a couple years ago so when I bought my gear to start up once I had my new house I went with fluval heaters for primary heating my main tanks and tried a few others as backup. ViaAqua seem to hold up best lately on the cheap end of the heater spectrum for me, I actually have most my originals of them still running, though I've replaced a couple that were pulled and placed and pulled and placed with tank swaps, it seems they like to be left alone lol. Fluvals have been fantastic though, I've been going again 3 years and haven't had any issues with them.

I gave Fluval a look on-line, but decided to just go locally rather than wait another day or two. My local PetSmart used to carry the Aqueon Pro which is pretty decent so I went there. I haven't been in this store in a very long time as I now get my dog food on-line. What a sad, sad fish department. The tanks were filthy - inside and out. The only heaters they had were Tetra, a lesser Aqueon, and the Marineland.

I'm not crazy about the Marineland I got, but it will just be temporary. I am hoping to get another Cobalt when they're available - they're just so easy for me to read and set. I'm even thinking now about ordering the Aqueon Pro on-line and returning the Marineland after. We'll see in a couple of days. I just want the tank to stay heated at a constant temp.

A couple of days after I posted about the 2 Beckford pencilfish fry, I found a 3rd one. All have been doing great. Tonight, I've found 2 more which are not really that much smaller than the other 3. I don't know where they've been but glad to see them. Since they move around a bit I really watch closely to make sure I'm not double counting any and sure enough, there are 5 fry.

The diamond fry is now out and about his tank also but I've only seen that one so far.
