I had not known that you lost your angel. I'm sorry to hear it.

Congrats on your new fish! Super exciting to get in some that you've never kept before. I'm looking forward to hearing your thoughts on them as they grow.

Those pencilfish you just got have been on my wish list for a bit. How fun!

Here are a couple of videos and I added one of my 20g that has the Vietnamese WCMM in front and the dwarf pencilfish are hanging in the back.

For the 2 gudgeons in front for a few seconds, if I had to guess I'd say one was male and one female. The males are supposed to get a sort of rounded head, like a small hump (seems a little evident to me) and the females should get a black edge on her anal fin (not evident yet).

Beckford's are one pencilfish I've got to stock again someday.

I know I've asked before, but what temp are you keeping the WCMM's at?

It's a good question, I'm curious too. Found this:

I'd love to be able to keep those pretty little fish, but there is no way I could maintain a water temp that low. It is a treat to see other members keep WCMM and enjoy them that way.

Fantastic videos, I really enjoyed seeing those fish and your tanks. Love love love those pencilfish! I absolutely need to get some for my 120g SA community! Definitely on my list for a while now, but reverted to the top again. And your anubias tank with the Beckford pencils is impressive.

I keep this tank at 74F. It has just the Vietnamese WCMM, the dwarf pencilfish, a couple of Habrosus cories and Hara Jerdoni, along with the shrimp. Not sure how many Hara jerdoni are left in there as I never see them. There were 3 and I saw one come out at last week's water change, so others may or may not be in there. But I think this is my favorite tank.

The new Red Beckford pencilfish haven't fared well. I'm down to 3 from the original 9. They slowly started disappearing over the first couple of weeks. When I received them there was one DOA in the bag, but they had sent me an extra one so I wasn't too concerned. The only other fish in this tank are 3 sterbai cories, 2 rummy nose tetras, and one BNP and these have all been in there for 6-7 years except the BNP which is about 4 yrs old - he was one that was born in another of my tanks. I'm actually just waiting for the cories and rummys to age out. Then I'll move the 3 pencils if they're still there and sell the BNP to the LFS and tear this tank down. I still may try some Beckfords in another tank at a later time - my LFS often has the regular one, not the red variety which was very nice. I really like my dwarf pencils and want to try another species.

But on a brighter note - so far - the 3 peacock gudgeons and gold nebula shrimp are doing really well in my 5.5g tank. The gudgeons are out and about most of the time. One goes in and out of the coconut cave occasionally and the bottom of the piece of driftwood I have in there is shaped like an upside U, so they've all spent time going through there, too. They seem pretty peaceful with each other.
