Default New bichir. Polypterus sp. "koliba"

Just got myself a less common bichir, the first of many more overly expensive bichirs I'm sure. He came from a heavily stocked tank and doesn't seem like he knows what to do with only seven other bichirs, a lot more active than I expected.

He looks stubby in the one picture that is clearest, so there's a less clear one showing his actual length. Not sure why one is sideways, but I'm on mobile so alas, not much I can do.

I've always been interested in bichirs and never had a tank large enough to keep them. Very cool creature. Congrats on the acquisition.

Bichirs haven't changed much in 200 million or so years, so you're spot on.

Same, the guy who sold it to me has a great selection of rare and undiscribed species. Can't wait to get in on that.

    Thanks!
If you could make space for a low boy 50 gallon tank, you could get senegals and ropefish.
