Yes, the flexibility of the Python hose is a plus for sure, especially for storage purposes, it's easy to coil and store in a bucket, that's what I do

If you find the water going back into the tank is stirring up your setup you could try to attach a sponge on the end to disperse the water more.
Or a 'T' pipe fitting attached to the end so it pours out the sides instead of straight down. A tube holder would be helpful as well.

Nice job! I have been thinking about a pump for years but like using my muscles lol. Currently I have bins for my aged water in a cart on wheels. I boil a portion of the water on the stove in a pot to heat the bins. But the cart is big and bulky, I'd rather the bins be stationary in the corner.

I haven't seen that at Home Depot. I've just seen potable vinyl tubing they sell in the refrigerator section.

Ok well I don't think it's at Home Depot, but maybe a pool store? I've seen it online, but it was stupid expensive.

I know I'm the rookie of this bunch but over the course of the last thrrr months I went from doing that to putting a heater in the water the night before water change and now added the capability of draining straight into my sump pump pit so no use of buckets for that and now the pond pump to pump water back in and it's so much easier I actually kindof look forward to my next change. It's a lot less spilled water too!

I plan to do another/larger water change this weekend I'll try to get some pictures. Like I said I feel like right now the only thing I'm missing to make itthe best it can me is a a larger bin to store my fresh water in.

That's a lot of buckets, and I thought 2 was a pain! Ha!
