That's about as big as they get, and he is a beauty. Definitely a boy due to the odontodes on head and first pectoral ray.

Funny its states that they may be related to L200 Hemiancistrus subviridis -Green Phantom (not the herbivore hi-fin variety; Baryancistrus demantoides), so maybe he can change color?

    B. demantoides right vs H. subvirdis left.jpg
    B. demantoides (hi-fin vegetarian) right, H. subvirdis (similar to blue phantom) left

Have been wanting a phantom (blue or green) for a very long time. This one is just stunning, I like him better molted. What do you feed him?

Thank you, you think its a male? Someone else told me female, so I just went with that- I sure dont know.
He/she eats everything I feed my discus, its in my discus tank: bloodworms, NLS Pellets ( Algaemax, cichlid), Freeze-dried Blackworms, and I give an Algae wafer daily. This fish is always hungry.
Keeps the tank clear of Algae and also eats bio-film offdriftwood.

A couple of nice video's I found of them

    Great videos! Thank you Lee!
Mine is definitely at the 7 inch range- it is a pleco that is very, very willing to eat anything you give it. Not at all fussy.
And very docile- I have it with my discus. When it is actively eating on bottom, however, it is very robust and moves around quickly so slower bottom fish would get edged out for food. Thats why I dont keep any other Pleco's with it. I felt like it would not allow other Pleco's to get any food. Maybe, that is not true. It seems to not be a problem with others who have kept them.
Mine has slowly become more green in the body and kept blue in the fins. It started out as a midnight blue, went to a lighter blue, and then began to blotch with green. Like the picture. Really unusual.

I'm sure your gut feeling about keeping him as the only bottom feeder is exactly right.
You say his coloration is unusual. It certainly is beautiful! I'm so glad for you, that you enjoy him.
