    Default Neon Tetras

I've never been a fan of neon tetras (Paracheirodon innesi) but I do have and like the green neon tetra (Paracheirodon simulans). I'm going to take a risk and try this color morph of the neon tetra known as black diamond neon tetra, not to be confused with black neon tetra (Hyphessobrycon herbertaxelrodi), which I've also had in the past.

Aquatic Arts had a sale going on for just a few days and today and tomorrow they're offering 40% off everything. So while I hate to pay shipping costs, having a good LFS near me, these caught my eye. Coupled with the fact that I have two empty 5.5g tanks I can use to quarantine them (which I do not usually do), I'm taking a chance. If all goes well, I'll probably add them to my 20 long where the green neons are. Here's a pic from their website

A little pricey, but very nice looking

    You getting 6, 9, or 12?

Wonder why you can't buy 24?

$3.50 for a fish is super cheap haha The majority of fish in the hobby, both fresh and salt, are more expensive than that.

They're 3.47 each if you buy 12, plus shipping, which adds to the individual cost of each fish

The "majority" of Characins are not more expensive than that, at least not here

I'll never buy or keep SW fish, so I know nothing of their pricing

Nice find . I usually don't like color morphs, Purple harleys being the exception, but these guys are awesome. This person posted this neat video on you tube that shows them schooling with the original form, very cool ;-)

I think they will be even cheaper once you enter the coupon code, which is probably why you can't order 24 packs because the packs are usually cheaper than the per fish price. They did the same thing with some of their shrimp. You can only get the per shrimp price, rather than a discounted pack price. It offsets the coupon code savings.
