I know, I have added around 15 pounds of calcium carbonate rock to my sump on top of dosing chemically for gh and kh. The issue is my gh and kh won't maintain; they lower in concentration daily. I'll lose 5° in as little as three days. It's frustrating and inexplicable.

It happens as a result of the nitrification process (ammonia to nitrate). The higher the bioload, the quicker KH gets eroded. Get some powdered baking soda to mix in daily. It will allow you to keep the GH and KH and longer. Eventually, you will know how much to add daily or even weekly.

Arowana is doing so much better! Also picked up a ripsaw catfish (buried under bichirs in terracotta) to grow out for my works 5,000 gallon pond and an argentia.

Time for an overall update.
6 gallon: no changes.
Paludarium: added a bunch more geosesarma crabs.
90 gallon: decided to sell off most of the fish in this tank and will be potentially picking up a pair of luciocephalus pulcher. The tank will be the pair, my hassar orestis, my hoplo catfish, my turtle, and my pygmy wood catfish (for now due to their width). I may attempt an african butterfly fish with them as well.
210: rescape and mild stock change, a few more fish added and taken away.
Also I don't remember if I mentioned it, but I have a water snake now. I redid that tank too! Here's an apparently sideways picture of how it's looking now. 20190307_235331.jpg

I revamped my 90 gallon into a loose Central American biotope. Now just waiting on the right person to buy the last few South Americans. Really enjoying the change over.
