Question Can you recommend some "first fishes"?

Hi everyone. I was just wondering what saltwater fishes would be best for me; I am just starting out with saltwater. Here are the goals I would like to achieve with my new saltwater fish(s):

    1. Fishes that are small/will fit into smaller aquariums
    2. Fishes that will breed easily and have no patents
    3. Easy-care fishes
    4. Fishes that are popular or make good pets

    Thank you everyone.
It's better to have and not need then to need and not have; this is especially true when you're dealing with fish and you need itch medication.

What size tank are you planning on??

From what I am understand the cardinals are easy to breed and stunning in a tank.

Yes, can you please tell us what size tank you are going to be using? It will make it easier for us to make suggestions.

Breeding adds a whole new dimension to this equation. Among some of the easier ones that won't be buttheads:

    Cardinalfish
    Clownfish (regular occ clownfish)
A couple of the small gobies or blennies

I agree that tank size is a must first, I also agree with easy first fish would be clowns and cardinals. I will defer to others about which would be easy to breed.
