He is a blast, will check you out and try to keep an eye on the goings on in the room. Fish were really wary of him at first two, had all my cichlids trying to figure out what he was. https://instagram.fyvr3-1.fna.fbcdn....52257792_n.mp4
Thanks! My gourami is one of my favourites, grown him out since he was an inch.

Very cool. Is there something wrong with the top of his shell? Looks like a flap is loose or something.

That's him in the process of shedding a scute, all natural and good.

Where does he get to relax up out of the water?...or does he even need to?

I'd say 85% aquatic, as this is a riverine species. Perches a lot on the tall piece of driftwood with his head out of water. He hasn't basked yet.
