Yeah I'm definitely gonna still monitor it but I think it should be pretty self contained, especially after the plants start growing in.

When i caught him the end of his tail looked like it had been torn off but it seems to be growing back nicely

Looking forward to watching this project grow.
I was thinking the same thing about the water quantity, but I hadn't considered the moss and rock in the waterfall as filtration. Really neat little setup, I'm excited to see how it grows. Nice critters:)

Ah, I've always had a soft spot for salamanders. How big is that one? What a cute little guy.

He's 2-2.5inches, this species gets 3.5 max so he'll probably grow a little more but not much.

What will you feed him? I used to have a big tiger salamander that would eat anything I wiggled in front of his face--including my fingers, much to my amusement--but I assume this guy will need live food, right?

I have seen him picking at the moss and stuff, but i am going to get some live bloodworms or some tiny earthworms for him. the crawfish haven't touched the differnt shrimp foods i've put in the tank, so im putting food in my 2.5g tank so the copepod population will get big enough that i can feed them those.

I increased the flow on the water pump a little bit so the waterfall looks more like a waterfall and less like just a moist rock
