Thank you, Andre. He's mostly concerned about the added weight and the potential for flooding. You and Matt gave me some good suggestions previously to help try to sway him. I did bring up the other night that while we may need to reinforce the floor for my aquariums, we should probably reinforce the floor under his bookcases too. He's got 4 fully loaded 3 foot wide, 8 foot tall bookcases and quite the book collection. He admitted I make a valid point and that he doesn't have much room to talk. lol

Can't help you with the floor issue haha Pretty much all homes in my neck of the woods are on concrete slabs so reinforcement is unnecessary.

As for the flooding, though, don't worry about that. Simple tweaks to the sump and return nozzle are all that is needed to completely safeguard from flooding due to overfilling. Like we suggested when we were posting up our sumps for you, if you can convince hubby to setup up the tank and sump he will see what we mean. I'm more worried about one of my tanks cracking or having a seam fail than I am my sump/DT flooding, if that tells you anything.

The hubs and I went by the LFS today to look at SW fish and corals. He really liked a large toadstool coral they had in their DT. He said he likes the ones that have a lot of movement. There was a lot of zoas - he calls them 'the ones that look like eyes' and said they were pretty, but didn't like them as well. I pointed out the mushroom corals, some hammer coral and pulsing xenia. I think it helps to have him see the real thing so he can find all my jabbering a little more understandable. Or at least that's the hope.

Pulsing Xenia looks awesome, but like mushroom will take over the tank. Just isolate it on a rock by itself. I wish I could get it to survive in my tank.

He's slowly coming around. There was a time when I'd ask him to go look at stuff with me and he'd flat say no. I do totally agree that he's a keeper.

I saw this on Craigslist and my first (admittedly snarky) thought was WTH? They're advertising it as a 75g reef ready tank. It looks like a 75g tank with an overflow in the tank and another tank (sump?) attached to the back - like a super-sized AIO. Is that basically what this is? I don't understand the appeal of this, unless you were able to build the back part of the tank into a wall and access it from the back. It may be the best thing ever invented, but it seems bulky, awkward, impractical and ugly to me.... I'm still working on my first cup of coffee, so it could just be my morning grump talking.
