    Hi guys :)

I got these dwarf gouramis recently. I thought they were honey gouramis (they were labelled as such and looked a lot more yellow in the store) but I've had someone tell me they look more like thick-lipped gouramis instead. Opinions?

I'm also wondering about their sexes. I'm thinking they're both female but I'm not really sure, so I snapped some shots.

#2 is a bit smaller than #1 and its also a tad aggressive - it seems to have claimed the little bridge ornament and chases #1 away from it sometimes lol

Not long, just since last Friday. They're pretty small, some of the smallest in the tank at the store.

What size tank, and tankmates, do you have them in?

Their size may make it difficult to sex them just yet.

8 gallon cube with 4 peppered cories (just babies). It's a grow out tank for the cories, as they're teeny right now. I had intended to buy honey gouramis so they would be happy in my 10 gallon (by themselves) later on, but now that I'm pretty sure they're thick lipped ones they'll probably have to go in my 29 gallon. They're about 1.5 inches right now, as far as I can tell. They move a LOT so its hard to measure them haha. Those pics above took me like 20 minutes to get because they're never still for more than a second!

It's still pretty hard to tell the sexes but it looks like No.1 might be male and No.2 a female.

They are not dwarfs. They are a colorvariaty of thick lipped gouramis (T.labiosa).

Think 1 is male amd 2 female indeed.

Yup, those are sunsets. Pretty early to tell for certain yet but you could actually have a couple of females there.
