    Default barb carrying eggs

    Hi...one of my tiger barb is carrying eggs as told by my lfs guy...so should i put the fish in a spawing tank alone or should i put a male also in it...for now ive put both the male and the female in a 10g tank...and water i used it from my main tank....please help me....m really confused as they are swimming like crazy when i put them in spawning tank

    What type of spawning material is there? In nature barbs will scatter their eggs in dense vegetation. Normally in aquariums they will also "throw" their eggs in dense plants but better quick material and something you can remove and hatch the eggs in another tank is a "spawning mop" pretty much green yawn lined up folded and cut then tied at one end.


    Just use some "material" and they should spawn by the next morning a 10g is perfect

    Ive just placed some plastic plants and some small aquarium stones.should i place a net beneath???as i cannot get the green mop around my in my town

    Ive not cycled it but i have used my main tank water which is cycled...and all parameters are normal

    I would try to make something similar to this....and my barbs belly seems to be lessen a bit than before did she layed her eggs???....

    Check on the plastic plant they might of stuck on it. Otherwise ita likely they did lay eggs but ate them

    I guess they ate it all....i was out for a whole day..so no one was there to watch over them....but i got a second female with the same bigger belly....and i didnt find any eggs around my tank and gravels.....i just got 2 females out of my 9 barbs
