    Default Heated outdoor pond

Hi , i live in Israel, winter temp average around 13C and the coldest days may reach 0 C a few lonley days a year. I want to build an outdoor heated pond for big tropical fish like paco's and large catfish.
Im trying to gather info on methodes for building and maintaining it, materials, heater types and estimated cost.Estimated size will be aroung 15,000 liter From the reasearch i did so far, the most importent thing is to isolate the surface ,so i was thinking of building some kind of a greenhouse "tent" that will cover the pool. I would appreciate any advice and info, Thank you!

Get sub tropical fish, not koi or goldfish. There are a lot of large fish out there that can live in that temperature, particularly from Uruguay and Paraguay. You will save a lot in heating.

If natural gas is cheap in Isarael, look at how pools are heated with natural gas.

Seems like pacus can survive in 15c

Its not the case, im not"getting" any fish. Im rescuing fish from neglected tanks. I want this heated pond for all the giant fish that im rescuing and not giving them enough space like iridscent sharks that i have 4 ,walking catfish and a paco. and im sure there will be more.

Can you build an insulated shelter around the pond? I'm not sure what's available in your area as far as supplies go, but I've seen transparent roofs for decks, or even a greenhouse type idea?
