I have several micromussa corals. These were previously classified as acanthestrea ("acan") corals in the hobby, but were reclassified in 2016 and the name change hasn't really caught on. Several online vendors still have them labeled as acans, which doesn't help spread the correct information out to the masses. I've had these guys for months and wasn't aware of the reclassification until this week

Anyway, these are some of my favorite types of corals. They're so big and fleshy with amazing texture and coloration. The big guy was my first coral and started out almost as small as the little one next to it. It's grown quite a bit, evident by the photo I found from when I first got it (below the video).

It's a little funny looking back at that photo and seeing how pristine everything was back then.

Acan (Iím not on board with the name change yet lol) are my favorites. But a bunch of people in the local group have had some color change problems with them. We are all starting to experiment with keeping them a little shaded to help keep their color. Early results are showing promise.
