    I wonder what that would do to the magnetic strip and/or chip in the credit card. Would it still be usable afterwards as a credit card? Would the inked signature come off in the water? Even if used above the water level, the card can still get wet. Maybe an old one that has expired can be used for algae removal. Although, I tend to cut mine up into pieces when they expire. One can't be too careful these days ...

    That's true. Yes, water will destroy the chip. I used to work in the production of microchips. I have an old points card, it doesn't even have a chip. Well those Kent marine scapers come with plastic and scrubby blades. Just a plastic card of some type is a good home remedy.

    on the flipper magnet it has a plastic razor tope thing that does the same thing as a credit card. No matter what type of razor type thing you use, you'll still need a plane old acrylic scrubber pad and some elbow grease
