I have always run windows and android appart from one terrible bit of advice I followed. Family conviced me to try a macbook pro.
Ended up being gotten rid of really fast. Back on windows again life is good.

Phone wise andriod has always been my type. Easy to use highly relibale particularly the galaxy.
As for the difference my wife has a iphone 8 new and I have a old galaxy s5. So far the iphone dose wonderful photos but really average films.
Storage even for the highest spec I phone is not really flash. A lot of apps do not work on it very well if you need to use apps that are not related to apple. For example google hang outs for live stream on youtube.
The signal reception in NZ is sub par to the galaxy. The ear peice mic is so quiet I have to use speaker to hear it.
Another ultra big pain is how slow it is to open apps. galaxy leaves it for dead for operating speed.

I guess if everything you have is apple then possibly a good choice. But IME if you say have a apple laptop and a android phone its a waste of time.
While the windows accepts both iphone and android with out hitch.

So far for a stress free pc world windows has made my life easy. So has android.

It is funny where this thread has gone. I haven't ever had computers/laptops from Apple, mostly so that I was compatible with work equipment and software. Although usually my home system was slightly ahead of work systems and were of course the "home" version as opposed to major statewide network versions. And my phones were usually android due to my son's influence. But I wanted to try the iPhone years ago so got the iPhone 5s. I'm not a heavy phone user and this suited my needs very well, caused me no problems and I've liked it a lot.

But now, it looks so small compared to what's out there and my senior eyesight begs for something a little larger. I'm going to go back to android and get one of the new galaxy phones - just have to decide which size.

Get the largest one that will fit in your purse(s) easily.

Actually I've pre-ordered the S9, rather than the S9+. Either would fit in my purse but the difference in price (about $70) wasn't worth the extra features for me and my use. Only differences really were the size, RAM (4 vs 6) and the dual camera on 9+.
