With any luck, I will be getting a 160 gallon tank for a reef aquarium. So, I've been looking at fish and I really like the looks of the reef safe wrasses. However, every thing I've seen says that different species of wrasses should be mixed "with caution". That tells me nothing. Why should they not be mixed and how does one get them to 'cautiously' get get along?
Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; Teach a man to fish and he will sit in a boat all day drinking beer.

Wrasse you write are a schooling fish; all born female, the largest and/or the healthiest turns herself into a full colored male; takes her about a day to do it, and all the other females are his harem. The reason you don't put different species of Wrasse in your reef aquarium is it's completely unnatural to them; also some kinds will eat all the food provided while the other kinds starve.
