Thanks! I doubt we will be driving the 5hrs to go back and get that one but I did find one on amazon, ever ordered a tank from there but there is a first time for everything

I will see if a more local store will order me the tank first. The dims are 20Lx18Wx30T....a complete nightmare to work on but would be killer if scaped and stocked right. I'm thinking a bunch of nano fish stocked per level and beastly canister filtration with Val's and Manzanita...perhaps a thinner leaved sword.

It is...in person it really does feel larger than you would expect for only being 20" long. I had never seen one in person but it would certainly be a fun tank...sort of like a hex without the obstructed view.

lol, yep! 2 of my 75s are on 36" stands so I have a ladder in the main fish room anyway. I have contacted a couple of somewhat local fish stores to see if they can order me a 47G column....I also noticed they make a 37 gallon column which is the same base but only 24" tall. So Ive asked about that too...wont know what is available till tomorrow.

I can order a Seaclear hex 35G which is 18x18x25...but they are pricier than Im looking at for this project. If I cant really get anything else a 20G Xhigh may be in my future as I can order one off Amazon. I am primarily just wanting to play with a very tall narrow tank as it is so different than most of the tanks I have ever done.

Looking at something like that for a future project, let me know how it works out

I have been looking at smaller column type tanks myself. They are pretty neat, but I'm just looking for a low tech, moss and shrimp display. There are some really really neat scapes out there in column tanks! I hope you find what you're looking for I'm sure you will do something amazing with it.

Awesome! glad to see others are appreciating the unconventional shape of column tanks. I already have a 56 column...I typically just call it a 55 out of habit and its a great tank. Although I am looking for something more extreme in dimensions. The wife is pushing for a 20G Xhigh...as we do already have a Titan 10G stand with our Dubia roach colony...could just move Yoda's bugs to the bottom shelf and put the 20Xhigh on the top. It would make more sense as I wouldnt have to search for a place to put his bugs. But I want to wait and see what comes of what the LFS can provide me in terms of quotes this week. For what I want to keep...the 20Xhigh would be enough.

Im just looking for a school of Lampeye killies for the top, Chili Rasbora for the middle, Scarlet badis and some Rosy loaches for the bottom. Will also add shrimp to the tank...been quite a few years since I kept any cherry shrimp. Not worried about keeping a load of fish because Id probably use a SunSun 302 in addition to maybe a UGF. These fish are also tiny so bioload on 50ish fish would still be very little.

I think you're a few hours' drive from where I am, but one of the LFS here has a 37 column for 90-some, with a stand for 140, or order it as a package deal with lights, filter, heater, top, substrate & beginner decor package for 482. The other has a column-stand-top-light package for 299, not sure what the prices are on that one if you buy a la carte. Might be worth it to check out if your LFS can't cut you a deal & your travels bring you toward the coast
