Larry, contact Scott at TanninAquatics, great guy, he and I emailed back and forth about what would work for my setups...I ended up getting the "Enigma" package, he picked out stuff specifically for my tanks and for what I wanted to achieve

You've been very patient to date with your beautiful breeding pair, Joe - hopefully they'll finally 'get it right' this time around, and you can enjoy seeing the growth and progressive development of the wrigglers !
I have been working on these pair for the last 6 months!!! lol

I'd like to think it was a series of changes over the months that led to success..

Thank you again so for everyone reading @discuspaul has literally been just a message away always replied same day usually. Never hesitated with invaluable first hand experience. Thanks Paul for being a actively helping member of AC even if its behind the scenes :P

Oh gosh its awesome I have to stop and watch them during work way to many times then necessary I just waited so long for a successful hatch plus all I kept hearing about during my time in the aquaculture lab was their discus project and how coooool it is and these fish are so hard to keep let along breed etc etc...so I was like ok challenge accepted lol...

So now in this video they are about two weeks old very actively feeding on both mom and dad plus feeding nicely on brine shrimp

Have cut the water changes to Daily/25% per the recommendation

Now that your pair has learned what it's all about and what they should be doing after a spawn, it's almost a guarantee that they'll never eat the eggs again !

And that's why a proven mated pair like that will sell for at least $500. in today's market, if not more.

Yea I can see exactly why a proven pair is so valuable a lot could go into "making"/"bonding" the pair. I'm also working on other pairs of discus such as a "red melon" strain that looks really nice.

@discuspaul interesting to know. I greatly enjoy your tidbits of information. Thanks for continuing to share your knowledge.

Joe, I'll very much look forward to future vids/photos of this pair. By the way, you know you are working a dream job when something makes you want to run into work on days off just to check on the progress of a project. That whole progression for you (from when you first joined us here on the forum, just renewing your dreams) makes me smile.
