Has anyone used this particular substrate in their tank? If so, what were your thoughts on it: pros/cons

It might be. In the gravel they offer Rift Lake, Ivory Coast, Congo, or Original. In the sand, there's Ivory Coast, Sahara, or White.

A product called Senegal Sand by Unipac is what I've seen recommended in the past for the type of setup I'm working on, but the product is no longer showing as being available for order on their website...not that it's offered in the US anyhow. Hoping to find a product that's at least somewhat comparable.

**Edit: Just saw a note from the manufacturer that it's been replaced with a product called NYASA- 1000 to 1200 , if that helps any

Re a previous discussion, water here is slightly to the left of neutral out of the tap (6.6-6.8), hardness of 60-70. Am I likely to need the buffering capacity of a cichlid substrate?
