Me too! Hope she recovers nicely. I like your method for the QT tank, it's what I do as well. What do you mean by "curved"? Like her posture was not good?

Sorry for the late reply. Yes she seems curved due to the growth on the fin and how it effects her swimming. When I shut the filter off she seems to straighten out. Last week I put a piece of IAL in the main tank in preparation for moving her back. I figure this will get water parameters closer and make her transition easier.

But speaking of water parameters, what do you all do to correct for tannins in the water shifting the colors of the test kit?

Unfortunately she didn't make it. In hind sight I should have just left her in qt. I balanced the water between the two tanks by taking out half the water in the quarantine tank then dripping in from main tank. After that i moved her up to the main tank but in a breeder box. She was still doing well and eating so after a couple days i decided to set her free. The male was so excited to see her but she still wasn't swimming much and for some reason didn't take cover. I went off to work and got a msg from my wife saying she looked stressed but the male was keeping the angels away. About an hour later she said her breathing was heavy so she snagged her and put her back in the box. Maybe two hours later she was gone.

Very bummed but I don't think there was much more I could do. I did find some other references to similar issues but never found a solution. Yesterday we went and got what I hope are two more females that are in quarantine now. Hoping to move them up in a week or so if all goes well he'll have some company.

    Sorry for the loss.

Did you buy the 2 new ones from the same place the one that died came from?

Sorry you lost her, but you sure tried to save her so don't beat yourself up. Now you can prophylactically treat the new females for parasites in QT. Other ailments are usually visible in the QT period, but internal parasites can evade QT as I have recently learned.
