The hail storm I posted about happened a couple of years ago out here in north Idaho. I still remember it because it not only broke my hummingbird feeder, it also put holes in my silk water lilies in my little garden pond. And it pounded some of my flowers down into the dirt.

We have had very warm weather, and on-and-off rain showers. One day last week, the rain got heavy. We had some lightning and thunder earlier today, but it has petered out. Forecasts predicted a real storm situation, but it looks like it has largely bypassed us. Spokane is supposed to get the brunt.

The garden is going great. Of course, the thistles and dandelions always manage to come back quicker and thicker than my perennial flowers, and I've been doing a lot of digging and planting. It warmed up rather suddenly for us, and much earlier than usual this Spring, and has been holding. No frost around the end of April, which is highly unusual. Ordinarily, we can't safely plant the more tender species until around Memorial Day. But this year, it's proving much nicer.

Our flowering plum is leafing out nicely, but no flowers. I've looked into this, and apparently it doesn't bloom every year, and since it was transplanted last year from the nursery, it's probably prioritizing foliage, since its energy comes from its leaves. Still a nice looking tree -- but may not bloom at all this season.

I'll be taking pictures later this season when more of the garden is in bloom.

And, I never would have planted Lily-of-the-Valley if I had known it was going to spread like it has and become a real pest. The tiny pips I had received had so little to them, I didn't think they would survive. Boy, was I wrong!
20 gal. high: planted; 5 white cloud minnows, 4 golden White Clouds, several RCS, 2 blue shrimp, 5 Amano shrimp, several snails; Azoo air. 65 gal: planted; 6 rosy barbs, 6 yellow glofish, 3 red glofish, 3 zebra danios, 5 white cloud minnows, 3 dojo loaches, 6 crimson spot rainbow fish, 12 large Amano Shrimp, several snails; AC110.

Oh, OK, I mistakenly thought you had a hail event recently, as well as that one in the past.

We reached 95F here today, tying a record high from 1902...apparently, global warming was a thing that long ago, as well....

EDIT: We actually hit 96F in my town, setting a new record

You know, it would negate hurricane season for us, so I would definitely consider it

Tomorrow's forecast says it will reach 100ºF around here. Not too humid though, so for that I'll be thankful.
