Yeah I got Poseidon's Feast, which is a mix of tisbe and tigriopous pods, along with the phyto mix. I have a LOT of amphipods in my tank, but they like to spend a lot of time in the rockwork and are also fairly large. I really wanted the tisbe and tiger pods to help get a good population of super small inverts in the substrate.

I had never looked into pods and their differences in the past before I got the goby. Actually quite interesting learning about the different types and the roles they play in nature and aquariums.

Be sure and let us know how you like the products and if they do well for you. Their packaging looks nice and who doesn't love stuff that comes in a mason jar?!

I've ordered stuff from algae barn and been happy with what I got. I added about 6000 pods (poseidons feast) two different times to the tank. I think the tank was too young when I did, I haven't seen any proof that I have a population of them. I need to start adding again because I would like to a mandrin down the road. I'm sure I have a population just not a thriving one. When I got my cheato it was from a friends system and I know his system is loaded with pods.

Someone's excitedly looking at tiny pods at work. I bet if you showed your co-worker, they will look at you funny and wonder why you're buying something you can't even see without squinting. I'm pretty sure that we would all act the same until we really got into actually keeping these type of tanks, lol.

There are lots of things like this in the hobby. People could not understand why I was so excited when my 3 boxes of rocks showed up at the house for my 90 gallon.

Yes, buying rocks. That one never gets old. People would look at you like you have 2 heads.

I've worked for two different companies since I started keeping aquariums, and I've received my fair share of funny looks when I get my animals in the mail. Probably the most repetitious and annoying question I get is "are you going to eat the shrimp?"

When I started working for this new company a year ago, I thought I finally found a kindred soul. My branch manager made a comment about how he used to have a large saltwater tank a few years back. After excitedly trying to start some conversations with him about it, I soon realized that he was simply one of those Tanked type of customers who pays a company to install, stock, and maintain a tank for him. He didn't have any real interest or passion, and when I asked him what kind of animals he kept in the tanks he just kind of gave me a blank stare and shrugged his shoulders...

That's sad. Why have a tank if you're not interested in the inhabitants. Maybe his wife wanted it or something?

The branch manager probably had a tank filled with damsels that ended up beating each other up until only one remained.
