    Default New tank-hazy, cloudy water

    Hello all,

Just yesterday I set up a new, fish less FW 10 gallon tank. I used what I think is a relatively expensive (for me) white sand from a well-known brand (donít know if I can mention brand names here) and a big box pet store. I researched an easier way to rinse new sand by funneling it into a clean soda bottle, submerging it and turning it upside down and then the dirty water rises to the top and then you discard it. Surprisingly, the sand was not dirty at all when I poured it out. I also painted the back of the tank flat back. I have a AC/Fluval 30 HOB with a small cylindrical Fluval pre-filter I the intake tube. Again, there are no fish in and I havenít started to cycle it yet. I should also mention that I am not using activated carbon, I have Purigen in now.
Any advice on how to clear up the water is appreciated
