Was size tank is this fish in?...they grow very large (24"), very fast, and will eat any other fish it can fit into it's mouth.

Generally not a good community fish...here's some info

No, I do not have any info on the poison....do an internet search on Clarias batrachus

They are considered an invasive species where I live.

Very, absurdly, late to the party, but I come with answers. The poison, if you've ever been stung, results in pain for a few hours at worst. Most animals aren't going to be exposed to the poison unless they're in too small of a tank or are attempting to predate the catfish. Occasionally when the catfish is frenzied looking for food it will tag a tankmate, but unless the fish is very small or scaleless there is little risk to your fish. Most larger fish will either experience pain for a period of time or have scales too thick to be pierced by a graze. Smaller fish, scaleless fish, or unhealthy fish may have a more adverse reaction but I've never heard of the a fish dying or having long term health issues from being housed with a walking catfish (unless the walking catfish eats them lol).

To give perspective, I owned an eel tail catfish which has poison on a much higher scale than that of a walking catfish. My bichir had 85% of the fish in its mouth, including the stingers, and nothing happened. I'm sure the bichir was in pain afterwords, but for most monsters/larger cichlids/plecostomus/etc it isn't a massive issue.
