I'd like to thank Mac and Joe for their efforts and dedication to bringing about such a wonderful group full of amazing talent, and a special thanks to @William for allowing the three of us to start the group and shape it into our vision.

I wanted to address some concerns about the group that members may currently have or have voiced in the past when FB discussions arose.

We (Mac, Joe, and myself) went into this project with the intention to stay true to the main site and uphold the level of politeness and professionalism that is found here at the Mother Site. Instead of filling the group with thousands of unruly members that bicker all day, as is common in most FB groups, we have opted to be more selective of the member base so that the quality of posts and discussions remains very high, and after two solid months we have yet to have a single argument or inappropriate post. We are striving for quality, not quantity :)

We also are not trying to compete or steal away membership from here, as I know people are a bit concerned about FB killing many other forums over the years. Our intent, which has been discussed many times, is to run the group as an extension of the main forum. There are multiple active members here who are also in the FB group, and I think it is safe to say that those members still come and contribute here as much - if not more - than they do on the FB site. The sheer volume of articles, care sheets, journals, and archived information that the main site has amassed over the last decade cannot be ignored. There are some members who prefer the FB group just because they are the type who prefer social media, but most of the members who visit still call the main site their home and spend most of their time here.

I ask that those of you who prefer the main site yet have FB accounts come swing by to at least check things out, even if it is just to put some concerns to rest. I think you will be surprised at some of the names of the members, as we have some pretty high-profile vendors in there, many of which you all order from Joe has done a fantastic job recruiting some top-level members from all over the world to contribute to our group.

So come swing by, even if it's just to say hi and check out our little group!

Thanks for starting the site. It's currently my favorite social media site on the net. I don't use FB much but that doesn't stop me from heading straight to the AC FB site several times a day.

This has always been my preference! I am truly enjoying my time on the communities Facebook.
When I go fishing I just throw sharp rocks in the water and wait for the dead fish to float to the top... Kingfisher
Everything happens for a reason. Sometimes that reason is you are stupid and make bad decisions.

I think my fish is adjusting well to the four gallon, He's laying on his side attempting to go to sleep on the bottom of the gravel.

Dear naps, sorry I hated you so much when I was a child... Love me

I'd be lying if I said I wasn't interested in what y'all are thinking right now haha Over 50 views of the announcement and nothing but thunderous silence from the peanut gallery.

I'm also very glad to have your support mommy1 and hopefully everyones support from the main forum. It's been a very fun journey and I'm still speechless with all the connections we've made with some of my biggest idols in the fish world.

I've personally learned so much already in talking with everyone.

Speaking just for myself, Facebook is something I've always been cautious about. I have seen it misused extensively. Time will tell and it's really up to us to use it and not misuse it. I'll keep an open mind and try to be optimistic.
