Anyone? It really looks like lymphocystis to me. Now I'm freaking out, not going to lie. I wish I could get good pics or vid for diagnosis, but I'm still trying to get the rams to eat, and really don't want to stress them with a camera following around. I'll keep trying though, I got them to eat some bloodworms a moment ago, so maybe they'll start coming out....

I hope someone here can jump in with a diagnosis for your ram.
You got a good focus a few times in your video. I'm hopeful that someone can give you an ID on what they think this is.

Your video's pretty clear, but I'm not that much of an expert on illness. Your diagnosis of Lymphocystis seems close: https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=...Wh8sIFbcuhvDjL

Sorry I'm not much help, hopefully somebody else will chime in with a more positive ID :(

I'm also sorry I didn't read this thread sooner, I've mostly had positive results from most online dealers I've dealt with over the years, that I didn't think anything else. Hopefully the rest of the Kerri are fine and research says Lymphocystis is not fatal if treated.

So what do I do now? I do NOT want this virus in my system. All the fish in that tank have been infected. My whole order and my gold tetras and my juvie male pleco will have to spend the rest of their lives together. I really didn't want another community tank and that binds up my 40g tall until all the fish die and I can disinfect it!

I can't believe this!!!! I'm about to cry. I don't think there's anything I can do? I feel really cheated. I lost my whole shipment to this and my own fish too.

I know it's not fatal, it just looks horrible and weakens the fish's immune system. They could live 5 more years in that tank. I'll have to maintain a tank don't even want and lose a grow out tank. Sorry for the whine, but I have the worst luck.

Lymphocystis does not affect less advanced orders, including catfish (Order Siluriformes), cyprinids (such as goldfish, koi, barbs, or danios; Family Cyprinidae) or salmonids (Family Salmonidae).
Yay! My nice male BN pleco is safe to rehome :)

I know I'm freaking out. I can't sleep. So, I researched to try and figure out a plan. I found this:

If you wish to sterilize a tank that has been infected with the Lymphocystis virus, it has been found that it can be inactivated with any of the following compounds, after 15 minutes at 77°F (25°C): potassium permanganate (100 mg/L or higher), formalin (2000 mg/L or higher), or sodium hypochlorite (liquid bleach—various formulations) at 200 mg/L or higher.
What are thoughts on this plan of action?

-Move all the fish/water/plants, 2 filters and bio to my 15g which is not in operation atm.
-Run bleach though my 40g grow out to kill the virus.
-Keep the gold tetas, super blue kerris and two rams in the 15g for the rest of their lives.
-Once the 40g is absolutely disinfected, set it up all over again.

Later on, I'll see if I can save the plants, but until then, everything is staying separated.

I'll swallow the bullet, keep a tank I don't want, but at least I'll have my 40g back.

This is all from what I've read. I need Rocksor to confirm what I'm understanding. I understand once a fish with the virus enters an aquarium, all the fish are infected. Other fish might never exhibit symptoms as the "wart" symptoms only appear when the fish is under stress, but are still carriers. The fish can stay healthy and "go into remission" if they are kept in optimal conditions, but the virus is forever. The whole tank must be disinfected, even if the infected fish are gone, new fish are exposed to the virus and thus become carriers.

This is why I do NOT want lymphocystis in my tanks, not sure how else to deal with it and guess it was just a bunch of bad luck-again. Well, just deal with it, like usual. What else do I do?

Sorry for all the troubles you've had with this first shipment. Don't lose sleep over this, if you're not well; how can you tend to your fishes?

Looking at the video, I can't say I'm 100% positive that it is lymphocytis, it doesn't look like it to me and just looks like a nodule in the head.

    Does it look like this?

Found this picture from some guy on fishlore with a hump on its head. Just trying to see if your fish has the same thing.

It would be less stressful for me to just keep a separate community, with separate equipment. I would not service the tanks on the same days. It's just an extra hour or two a week of maintenance.

    https://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/threads/severum-ich-or-something-else.693901/

The only cure, rather remission, of lympho is lots of water changes, preferably daily, no less than 25% until it goes away. The tank would have to receive more water changes than the other tanks in the long run. Heavily planted compared to the amount of fish, lower stocking than you are used to in the other tanks would help.

I would still do the Paraguad for a couple of weeks to make sure fish do not have ich.
