Yep tx! It's already a QT tank, I'll have to let things be while I'm away, I'll do a WC when I get back and my final anchor worm dose. Other than providing the fish nutritious foods, (Before I leave!!!! No feeding the tanks while I'm away!!!!!!) that's all I'm gonna do anyway. I just have to let the weak die off unfortunately. It's hard to count, but it looks like I still have about 10 "healthy" kerri tetras, well, they are acting nice and healthy and look ok.

Sadly, the Kerri tetra I gave a chance wasn't found upon my return. A couple nights ago, another Kerri tetra, I believe the of with the anchor worms wasn't swimming well and developed a curl or spinal deformity it looked like. So I put him to sleep peacefully. I think there are 9 10- tops Kerris left. I have all my gold tetras and of course my beautiful male BN pleco.

I did a bit of rescape after the latest Kerri death. I removed that big ugly glass dirt dish, planted my sword and little bit of crypt wendtii red I had in the tank. Hopefully there's enough light to grow it. I brightened the pic up a bit, the tank is pretty dark with tannins.

I also upped the BN pleco feedings, I think he rasped right thru my sword leaves under the strongest light. With the new tank, there wasn't enough algae to keep him from rasping too hard, normally, this is not a problem for me.

This tank will stay tinted Blackwater and low light. Although I have a two tanks with a thick blanket of dwarf water lettuce on them, (that's to combat cyanobacteria), this is my first tank with more leaf litter and Blackwater to this extent. I even replace the tannins with tea at WCs. The fish live it!

Sorry to hear about the Kerri tetras. You did the right thing, with the second one.

Your tank looks so beautifully natural. I love the way you've planted it. The long roots of the floating plants have captured my interest, in particular.

I echo RG's comment about the scape and floating plants. Sorry about your tetras. Not an easy thing to put your fishes down.

Thank you very much Rivers and Spardas re: scape :) :) I add the water lettuce with long roots from my 90g, there's always as ample supply there, but I really enjoy the look of the roots and the kerris like to weave and hide in it. interesting fact: I still find they use the upper portion of the tank while the gold tetras are more mid level, even bottom. The gold tetras have always been very timid and hide when I get close, whereas the kerris flood to the feeding zone at the very surface.

I have a floating log cave in the floating plants on the right side. I know tetras don't need caves, but my BN pleco loves to clean it and hang on it, it's too cute! I tied it to the right side where there are no plants and leaf litter because the current was slowing moving everything around. The plants are now separated into two bunches on each side, but as long as they don't block too much light, I'm ok with that. I was going for a different look than my other tanks, I really like the look of leaf litter and deeper tannins.

About the Kerri tetras, thank you, but I'm not surprised anymore when one drops. I still have all my guild tetras and my BN pleco, so that says something I think.

I'll just take some pics of the floating log cave :)

    Tank looks very good

I'm glad the remaining Keri's and gold tetra are doing fine ;-)

The reflections were driving me insane, but here we go with some more pics. Again, I had to lighten the pics since the tank is rather dark for pictures. I'd rather the floating plants stay put on the right side, but I have yet to figure out the best way to scape with them without losing too much light. This shading happens quickly haha.
