I rearranged this tank and thinned the Java fern down.

The geophagus sveni are getting big and have developed their long trailers off of their fins. The g.neambi are still sub-adults and just starting to grow their adult colors and fins.
The African tetras are also growing larger. They are an amazing group of tetras.

I am also going to put a couple stems of each in my 30 gallon- just in case- so if the first stems dont make it- I have some back ups. This tank really has turned in to a plant nursery.

    These are what I ordered:
    Microsorum pteropus 'Philippine' (Philippine Fern)
    Rotala sp. 'Green'
    Rotala sp. 'Yao Yai'
    Rotala sp. Enie
    Rotala Wallichii
None of the Rotala's worked in my low-tech tanks. Unfortunately.

The g. neambi are gorgeous! I only have 3. I wish I would have evened it out with 4 sveni and 4 neambi. But, the vendor didnt have the neambi at the time.

    What size is your tank?
If I go and start getting big fish again, the I would want a 2m tank, a 1,8m at least

    It is a 180 gallon tank- 72" x 24" x 25"

The g. sveni and neambi both stay relatively small for a geophagus species- unlike some variants that get between 8-12 inches in the aquarium, these two stay under 8 inches.

My g. neambi's have been very slow growing relative to the sveni's. One is about 6 inches and the other 2 around 5 inches. But, they are sub-adults- have more growing to do.
