You should be able to get away with it since geos are gregarious and the right amount in a tank will keep them occupied among themselves.

I was thinking that also... at 40 in a school they should do well together. I may even not do any corydoras and do like 80 tetras with the Geo's... how great would that be!!

I wish I could find some Argy's--- totally unavailable at all the sources I am aware of. They are my first choice.
Actually, haven't seen any Mirabilis either, with the exception of Aquabid about a month ago, but I wasn't ready to get them yet.
Rapps has the sveni right now... i may end up going with this one.

Any members here have geophagus that your aware of... maybe they can let me know of other sources or breeders.

Mmmm I like the idea of both however the geos and corys would be feeding in the same areas but I haven't personally kept them together so I'll let others add hopefully personal experience. I do love my corys so there's that lol

    Hey @Rocksor whats your thoughts?

You make a very good point, actually. They do occupy the same space.
maybe it would be better to do a massive shoal of tetras instead.
I really want to keep this tank ( not necessarily a biotope) but natural in the effect that each fish will have the optimum conditions to display their "natural" behavoirs. I mean, as natural as can be expected in a closed box system with water.

Rocksor does make a point they naturally occur in the wild together so I feel with the right amount of food every one will be a happy family and I love watching a nice school of corys feeding in unison.

Most people in nz are sheep and just follow with out questions. Very little research done with internet prices.

Because of that, the shops just add 1000 percent to the prices. Blaming shipping and small orders due to small population.

Though any joe blog can order a fx5 fx6 for around $100.00 more than usa. Just finding a usa shipper is issue.
