Default Finalizing Stock List for My New Tank

    0 Not allowed!
Monday, I'm going to place my order with my favorite LFS for my new fish. My new tank has finished cycling (been getting 0s on Ammonia and Nitrite). I put the new filter in my old tank and had it running and it really did seem to help the cycle along. I am wanting some final advice before I place my order.
    My Old 10 Gallon
    -1 African Dwarf Frog*
    -5 Otos*
    -1 Dwarf Gourami
    My New 29 Gallon Tall
    -1 Powder Blue Gourami
    -1 Bumblebee Cat
-2 Yellow Lab or 2 Blue Acara
    -6 Rummynose Tetra
    *Are fish I already own.
I can't decide if I want to add a Acaras or Yellow Labs. Neither of them were selectable species on aqadvisor.com so I haven't been able to check compatibility there.

    a 29 g is a bit small for a 6" adult blue acara.

Would a yellow lab be better, I saw that they only get about 4.5 "? Is there any other species that would work well in this tank?

Yellow labs can be killers. I would avoid them to. If you want a cichlid (that is somewhat easy to find) i would look at kribs. Colorful, hardy and work well in communities.
Do as I say. Not as I do.

personally I would go with apistogrammas (cockatoo dwarf cichlid) for a tank that size

Mmmm I think kribs or cockatoos would be a good fit for a 29g good recommendations. Only issues I foresee is the usual aggression of cichlids. So prepare for the need to re-home potential fish.

As suggested for a tank that size; I would forego the yellow lab and blue acara and research Apistogramma and see which species would work for you. The dwarf gourami is also a roll of the dice as they can be territorial with other fish, maybe look into Bolivian rams.
