    Default Help ID (should be an easy one)

    Can someone who knows more about African cichlids than me confirm the ID of the fish in the picture. I think it is / to me it looks like Haplichromis Electric Blue but i am not 100% sure since there are a few other species with similar coloration such as
    Aulonocara nyassae
    .

    They have a large number of them in a pond at the Fairchild gardens in Miami (in a green house) and it looks stunning. I would like to try to track down a few fish so that i can do something similar.

    Sciaenochromis fryeri ('electric blue hap').

    Dimidiochromis compressiceps are more elongated and 'compressed':

    Those are pics of my 'malawi eye-biters' from years ago. I kept them in a 180gal where the lived for about 9 years if I recollect correctly. I no longer have them.
