    Default Kribs

Are kribs jumpers? I have a male and female pair. The male is always visible. The female has been mia for a few days. Searched the tank and can not find her. Thought she may have eggs somewhere but don't think so. The male isn't guarding anything. He's all over the tank. Thought maybe they were jumpers but couldn't find anything online about them jumping out. Just didn't want to tear the tank apart looking for her if she possibly has eggs somewhere in there. Just no signs of her anywhere. Not even to eat. I have only had them for a little over a week.

No they are not jumpers. (but all fish can jump) The male might not guard anything until the eggs turn into wigglers.
Do as I say. Not as I do.

Hope your female turns up. I hate when I can't find fish in my tank, but based on my plant levels its always a given. IME they usually turn up.

Thanks to everyone. The last time I seen her she came to the top to eat but her belly was a deep purple hence the thought of possible eggs somewhere. But with the male not guarding any place was leaning toward a jumper. My tank is planted with open top.

Just to update: Went on a search of my tank for the missing krib. Not one trace of her was found. Searched everywhere. Even searched outside the tank again. Still no trace. So the only thing that comes to mind is that she got startled and jumped from my tank onto the floor where my 4 legged furry friend had a nice fish dinner. :(

A distinct possibility...but if they are not known to jump, who knows?

Open top, or NO top?...plants growing out of it?

I have a light laying across the top of the tank and that's it. But since this happened I have replaced the canopy back on it.

It does somewhat but my canopy and lights don't work perfectly. I have to remove my entire lights to get into my tank. Working on upgrading them. But since her disappearance the canopy will stay on the tank now.
